Explanation[edit | edit source]

The original 1995 strip was just the middle three panels. This edit sandwiches it between the first and last panels of the "Garfield's Horror Theater" strip, here edited to say "Crap Past the Radar Theater" instead. The phrase is explained in short in the author's note, and if you need more explanation for it, see the TV Tropes page, but as to what content...

As said, the original 1995 strip was just the middle three panels... unedited. So, in an actual strip published in many, many newspapers, Jon is implied to have inadvertently made himself effectively naked, after an entire car trip of not noticing that he was wearing a sandwich. However, because anything that would've been problematic was kept off-panel, the censors allowed it.

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

The strip shown here is a prime example of getting crap past the radar, where the creators or writers slip in offensive content that usually goes undetected by censors. For some strange reason, Garfield is no exception.

Original strip: 2006-10-28; 1995-08-29.
