Explanation[edit | edit source]

A Softer World was a webcomic in which each strip contained three panels of photographic imagery with typewriter-style text superimposed. In reference to this, the strip places a Garfield monologue onto a photo of a cat.

Original strip: 1978-12-21

I was wondering how you could do Garfield in the style of another comic. A Softer World sprung to mind.

Transcript[edit | edit source]

{Arty black and white photos of a real cat lying curled up with its eyes closed, overlaid with cut-out strips of paper with dialogue printed in Courier font}
Garfield: You know, maybe there's more to life than just eating and sleeping... Maybe I should be nicer to Odie, and more considerate of other people's feelings.
{silent beat}
Garfield: Nah.
