Explanation[edit | edit source]

The original comic had Garfield lip-syncing to a record player. When a CD player skips, it might not skip as far as a record player often does; thus, only the "ur" syllable is repeated rather than "I'll sure".

This one (from 1985-06-30) is an up-to-date version (well, "up-to-date" by newspaper comic standards, anyway...) of one of my personal favourites. Don't you just hate it when your CD player starts skipping?
