Explanation[edit]

In the original strip, the meat loaf said that it was a lasagna to lure Garfield to the fridge. Here, it quotes the titular line of Meat Loaf's hit single "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)". Garfield's line "Meat loaf is cruel" thus takes on a different meaning.

The title is another reference to the song - specifically, the lyric "Some days I just pray to the god of sex & drums & rock 'n' roll."

The author writes:[edit]

Original strip: 2013-07-10.

Transcript[edit]

Voice from fridge: Garfield, I am calling you...

Voice from fridge: I would do anything for love.

{Garfield opens the fridge}

Voice from fridge: NOT!

Garfield: Meat Loaf is cruel.
