Explanation[edit | edit source]

25: Reversed Garfield, 50: Reversed Garfield and 70: Reversed Garfield - Variant reversed the dialogue of their respective original strips. This edit instead flips Garfield's and Jon's horizontal orientation so that they face away from each other.

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

We've had a few strips where the order of the action in the strip get reversed. Here the idea is just to reverse each character separately. This proves to increase the tension of the (unchanged) dialogue considerably. Apparently, Garfield is seriously angry with Jon for some reason, whereas Jon tries to explain away his behaviour as some kind of old man's ADD, all while conspicuously avoiding eye contact. Garfield ain't buyin' any of that. Well, would you?

Original strip from 1989-06-13.
