Explanation[edit | edit source]

Originally, the last panel had Garfield end his statements with "but I'm still doing my job!" (some sort of jab at his lonely, possibly clinically depressed owner Jon, who is unsurprisingly not amused). Here, it's replaced with the punchline of a semi-notorious strip from 1989 where Garfield attempts to commit suicide by snapping his neck with a recliner, thus making his jovial behavior in the first two panels seem like an empty facade (or manic depression).

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

Original strips: 1989-02-11, 1992-05-04.
