Explanation[edit | edit source]

This strip is a reference to the robotic character of HK-47 from the Star Wars spin-off games Knights of the Old Republic, as assassin droid designed to conceal itself as a protocol droid. Of note are two verbal tics of HK-47: His tendency to preface his sentences with a speech conditional that described the type of statement it was (for example, all of his questions began "Query:", e.g. "Query: Can I kill him now, master?"), and a programming instruction that he refer to all organic beings as "meatbags".
