Explanation[edit | edit source]

As the author says, this mosaic is made up of 27,406 panels of Garfield, excluding Sunday comics.

Notably, some panels, including most found in Garfield's eyes and the snowflake, and some elsewhere, lack color.

It is impractical to categorize this very article in every Garfield original strip date category, excluding Sundays, prior to the stated date in 2007. As such, this article only includes the date categories corresponding to the credited dates on the Square Root of Minus Garfield site itself.

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

This is every panel from every Monday-to-Saturday Garfield strip up to and including the first panel of 2007-08-23. The resulting mosaic image is from 1994-12-11.

That's 193×142 panels, for a total of 27,406 panels.

We obviously can't display this at full size here. Or in fact, at all, considering the full-sized image is 37635×24424 pixels and over a gigabyte in size. A somewhat larger version, at a mere 4632×2982 pixels, is available for download here.
