Explanation[edit | edit source]

This edit switches the sources of the two thoughts: instead of Garfield "announcing" his own nap attack, Jon apparently makes Garfield sleep with a thought; instead of Jon thinking a witty observation, Garfield manages to do so in his sleep.

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

Apparently, Jon has the power to make other people fall asleep. Sure, it may sound like a stupid ability at first, but I'm sure I could think of plenty of fun things to do with it.

Or maybe it's just Jon's hidden mental powers being focused in an odd fashion.

Also, yes. Garfield can think in his sleep.

Original Comic from 1978-11-07.
