Explanation[edit | edit source]

Frank Miller's notorious "All Star Batman And Robin" features the line, said by Batman, "What, are you dense? Are you retarded or something? Who the hell do you think I am? I'm the Goddamn Batman", a line widely mocked for (among other things) being both stupid even by comic book standards, and being wildly out of character for non-Frank-Miller-written versions of Batman. The author's comment further establishes this as a jab at Miller by mentioning the excessively long delays associated with ASBAR.

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

Garfield, as written (mostly) by Frank Miller. The next comic will likely be out sometime in the next decade or so.

While I did come up with the idea for this before I read Colin Foster's Frank Miller's Garfield, I still feel kudos is in order for travelling along the same thought train (and beating me to the punch). Even if we were sitting in different cars.

Original Garfield comics from 1997-10-29 and 1997-10-30.

Transcript[edit | edit source]

Jon: Who are you?
Garfield: What, are you stupid? Are you dense or something? Who the H do you think I am!?
Garfield: I'm the {word blacked out} Sock!
