Explanation[edit | edit source]

This strip, as the author's notes ultimately predicted, is part of an effort of intentional lazy edits designed to lampoon lazy edits. This strip appears to be a standard-issue remix, here replacing Jon in the third panel with another Garfield thus making Garfield's wish appear to be granted while eliminating the third panel's dialogue; only the author's notes even imply this strip to be lazily edited, and only by crediting 2193: All You Need is Me as part of this strip's basis keeps this strip from being the ultimate progenitor of the ensuing lazy-edit trend. This strip would be one-upped by 2553: Tener Cuidado Con Lo Que Deseas, which reuses the first panel's art and sets up the dialogue that would ultimately define the intentional lazy-edit trend this strip sought to create.

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

Yet another lazy edit by the 'Lass. (Could I be channelling my inner Davis?) I couldn't resist using Garfield's expressions in the original strip. If anyone else wants to make a derivative of this we'll officially start a lazy edit meme.

Original Square Root of Minus Garfield: #2193.

Original strip: 2015-01-06.

Transcript[edit | edit source]
