Explanation[edit | edit source]

Nothing really complicated here (the author says as much in his notes); the first and last word balloons are switched. Interestingly, this creates a decent joke in itself, with the juxtaposition of Garfield stealing Jon's wallet and the "financial advice" line working well.

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

This is just a very simple one. The plan was to take a random strip, and swap the first and last speech bubble. This is the result.

Original strip: 2003-02-14.

Transcript[edit | edit source]

Garfield: {grinning} I want a lawyer.

{silent beat}

Jon: Did you take my wallet?!

Garfield: {still grinning} People seek me out for financial advice.
