Explanation[edit | edit source]

In the original Garfield comic, Garfield is standing on a field meeting a fat lazy, cat named Grafield. Grafield introduces himself saying, "Hello, I'm a fat, lazy cat!" Garfield asks Grafield what his name is. Grafield tells Garfield it's Grafield. Then Garfield tells Grafield to wait right here. And then, Garfield walks into the room where Jon Arbuckle is. Garfield tells Jon to call their lawyer.

In this Square Root of Minus Garfield edit, Jon Arbuckle has been replaced by Jim Davis' lawyers from "Strong Bad Classics!" called Porridge Maiden. Sure, they may look like Lyman, but they're still lawyers. And the author points out a reference to the Homestar Runner cartoon because he is a Homestar Runner fan. And Garfield's thought bubble "Call our lawyer" has been replaced by "Sup, Jim Davis' lawyers."

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

A reference to this Homestar Runner cartoon. Yes, I'm a H*R fan.

Original strip: 2008-04-21.
