Explanation[edit | edit source]

In the original Garfield strip, Jon was asking Garfield if he ever wakes up feeling depressed. Jon thought it was his own uneventful life. Then Jon realizes that Garfield glued Jon's hand to his face.

Here, the words are in alphabetical order.

The author was trying to find a wordy comic for this one to arrange all the words in alphabetical order. He was trying to find one in one of his Garfield books, but he couldn't find it. He was confused. He decided to use the January 26, 1993 strip instead.

And then he made the title, but he was mistakenly confused about thinking that was the comic that had Jon with a blender glued to his face. It wasn't that one, but he liked the odd partially non-sequitur name and it makes the strip that funny, giving it neither this nor the original one with anything to do with blenders.

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

I was considering to use a rather wordy strip for this one and arrange all the dialogue in alphabetical order. I remembered trying to find one in one of my Garfield books, but I couldn't find it again. So, I decided to use the famous one from January 26, 1993.

As for the title, that came from me mistakenly thinking that this was the strip that had Jon with a blender glued to his face. This strip obviously wasn't that one, but I still liked the odd, partially non-sequitur name and it makes the strip funnier, given that neither this nor the original one have anything to do with blenders.

Original strip: 1993-01-26.
