Explanation[edit | edit source]

In the original Garfield strip, Garfield's panicked awakening of Jon is because he has hunger pangs.

Here, he tells Jon that he's pregnant, which is odd, because outside of a few SRoMG strips, we've only known Garfield to be male, and only women get pregnant.

Normally, the day in April on which people play pranks is the 1st, April Fools' Day; Garfield, on the other hand, played his prank on the 30th, the last day of April.

The title may be a reference to the SpongeBob SquarePants episode "Fools in April".

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

Garfield plays his pranks on the the last day of the month, not the first.

Original strip: 1987-04-30.
