Explanation[edit | edit source]

In the original Garfield strip, Garfield was watching the sun, then he went back to bed, because he said it was dark out.

Here, Jon asks Garfield why he's wearing sunglasses at night, and Garfield says that he can keep track of the visions in his eyes, referring to the 1984 song "Sun Glasses at Night".

The author says that the intentional artifacting belongs to the immediate predecessor era of music video, but he's too busy jamming out to the contemporary Huey Lewis to care.

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

By way of explanation. Admittedly, the intentional artifacting belongs to the immediate predecessor era of music video, but I'm too busy jamming out to the much better Huey Lewis to care.

Original strip: 2017-08-17.
