Explanation[edit | edit source]

No explanation is needed here, save the synergy between using sprites from a video game to make a strip about video games. The sprite rips are in SROMG strip 21.

Transcript[edit | edit source]

Jon: Garfield get tough on the mice.
SFX: {Garfield banging the wall near a mouse hole} Bam Bam Bam
Garfield: {to mouse} No video games for a week!

The Author Writes[edit | edit source]

This was inspired by John Wallace's sprite rips from the Garfield video game, most of the sprites come from that strip, and the mouse is an enemy character from the same game. Jon's speech had to be cut down to fit into a text box, but I think that this stunted speech fits in well with how video game scripts of the era usually read.

Original strip from 1996-10-15.
