Explanation[edit | edit source]

This is a variant on the infamous pudding pops strip where the last two panels are exactly the same as the first. As the author remarks, it conveys more or less the opposite of the original meme (nothing is changing).

Also worth noting is that the previous day's strip was originally named "Garfield Garfield Garfield".

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

This actually went through several revisions. Once with Jon saying "The world is always constant". Twice with Jon's bubble repeated in all three panels (using the current text and the "constant" text). Once with Garfield sighing in the third panel. I finally picked this version as it is closest to the original meme and somewhat opposite in meaning.

Original strip: 2001-11-28.

Transcript[edit | edit source]

Jon: The world is constantly changing.
{Followed by two panels identical to the first panel without the dialogue.}
