Explanation[edit | edit source]

"A Hard Day's Night" is a song written and sung by John Lennon of The Beatles (whose members are all namedropped in the title). The idea behind this strip was to come up with panels that seem to go well with the lines of the chorus:

  • The "working like a dog" caption goes with a panel featuring Odie.
  • The "sleeping like a log" caption goes with a panel wherein Garfield is sleeping, or trying to sleep.
  • The "make me feel all right" caption goes with a panel in which Garfield is happily holding Pookie.

First panel: 2005-05-03 Second panel: 2005-12-24 Third panel: 2004-12-25

Transcript[edit | edit source]

It's been a hard day's night, and I've been working like a dog.
It's been a hard day's night, I should be sleeping like a log.
But when I get home to you, I find the things that you do,
Will make me feel all right.
