Explanation[edit | edit source]

The original strip had Garfield say "horror", with the "horror" being that they're out of cookies. Here, Garfield says "corer", which sounds a lot like "horror", and the middle panel was replaced with an entire strip in which Jon, perusing a photo album with Garfield, talks about a family member who'd won a state apple coring championship.

The author's note "complains" about what the author themselves did.

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

Using a strip verbatim? This meme has jumped the shark.

Original strips: 2000-05-06, 2006-10-28.
