Explanation[edit | edit source]

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

Upon seeing this strip, I immediately thought that it needed to actually represent a vile song that needs to be smashed. I decided to go with what may be an easy target, but wasn't necessarily the most obvious one (like Nickelback or Justin Bieber would have been).

Admin note: In yet another case of great minds (or SRoMG contributors, anyway) thinking alike, yesterday's and today's strips were received in our submission box mere hours apart, shortly after the original Garfield strip was published. It's interesting to compare the different songs they chose. Now if only Justin Bieber would write a song about Pudding Pops...

Original strip: 2012-04-02.

Transcript[edit | edit source]

Phone: I kissed a girl, and I liked it...
{Garfield smashes the phone with a hammer}
SFX: SMASH!
Jon: Hey!
Jon: I liked that ringtone!
Garfield: Trust me. The world is now a better place.
