This strip is essentially a presentation of two otherwise-unaltered Garfield strips tied to rare real-life circumstances involving a rare instance of an outright repeat of a Garfield strip (gag reuse between otherwise-distinct strips being far more common in Garfield). It is unknown the exact circumstances why both a repeat and an original strip were issued on 2012-04-18, but the date being adjusted in the repeated strip suggests the repeat wasn't accidental; it is likely that the repeat was the original plan for that particular day and was initially deployed, but a late decision saw an original strip for the date get deployed later on in the day. It is unknown the extent as to how far the repeated strip spread, and how far the original strip spread, as far as newspaper coverage is concerned.

Strangely, on this day there were two Garfield strips. One which was a repeat of the 2011-09-06 strip, and this second one which must've been a correction sent in to replace the repeat. I have a feeling the top strip is going to become rare.
