Explanation[edit | edit source]

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

Because strips have two square roots, not one. Besides, the other elementary mathematical functions were already done, and I didn't want to be left trying to do something funny with elliptical integrals.

Original strip: 1984-07-02.

Transcript[edit | edit source]

{Whole strip is repeated in negative: with negative colours, and reflected as if into the negative axis of a number line.}
Garfield: I have this nagging feeling I'm forgetting something.
SFX: WHUMP! {Odie falls on Garfield}
Garfield: Oh yes, I forgot I kicked Odie into next week, last week.
