Explanation[edit | edit source]

This strip takes the original Garfield strip and makes the blender sentient enough to glue Jon's face to it, as opposed to Jon gluing the blender to his face as in the original Garfield strip; the third panel is unchanged, suggesting Garfield to have the same reaction between both interpretations.

The strip's title is a mashup, with the latter half being a pun on the film Night of the Living Dead; it is presumed the former half is also intended to be a pun, although it is unclear whether the author intended that half to be a pun on the film Saturday Night Fever or a pun on the television series Saturday Night Live.

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

Original strip: 2008-04-26.

Transcript[edit | edit source]

{Garfield alone. Enter Jon, with a blender glued to his face.}
Blender: I glued Jon's face to myself.
Garfield: Whoa!
{Exit Jon.}
Garfield: Is it Saturday night already?
