Explanation[edit | edit source]

This strip acts as a follow-up to the author's notes of 1666: Grafield Minus Grafield, taking the original Garfield strip and deleting Garfield while keeping Grafield in place; initially, the author only included the first line of author's notes and an original strip credit in the submission (the old-style crediting system appeared below the initially-submitted part of the author's notes proper; the current crediting system is placed at the bottom of the entire author's notes), adding the rest later upon realizing they had essentially been tricked into doing a straight Garfield Minus Garfield treatment (regardless of whether or not that was the intention of #1666's author).

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

This strip should have known better than to put out such obvious bait.

Added by the author later: Something funny occured to me today. Despite the unusual construction of this submission, this is actually a straight "Garfield Minus Garfield" comic!

Clearly John thought for a moment that his paranoid delusion had become real, and was shocked to discover something so closely similar to his strange and bizzare fantasies.

Original strip: 2008-04-21.
