Explanation[edit | edit source]

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

Sometimes, Garfield's gags are physical, but other times, the gags are implied. This one is the latter. I feel that it won't be unusual if this one is more physical in nature, since Garfield had some unusual scenes before (at least, ones that cannot happen in real life).

Initially, Garfield's thought is removed so that the joke isn't redundant, but I decided to remove all sound effects to make this silent, taking a page from Silent-Era Garfield.

Original strip: 1985-12-22.
