191: Garfield Miners Garfield
Garfield Miners Garfield |
Made by: Manyhills |
Explanation[edit | edit source]
The title is a reference to Garfield Minus Garfield; this substitution of a similar-sounding word for "Minus" notably precedes the Constantly changing edits that, for the most part, used the same title format. The strip itself switches the worm's and Garfield's dialogue and fittingly places a miner's hat on Garfield, as miners are one of a few jobs that involve digging.
Wikipedia's page for miner's helmets redirects to the article on hard hats. While not many photos of miners' helmets were available in Wikimedia Commons in 2009, there have since been more images added.
The author writes:[edit | edit source]
Do you know how hard it is to draw a miner's helmet? It wouldn't be so bad if Wikipedia had any decent pictures of them.
Original strip: 2000-08-05
Transcript[edit | edit source]
Worm: What do you do for a living?
Garfield: {in miner's helmet} Dig.
