Explanation[edit | edit source]

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

Submission #1967 did an interesting "reverse ending" but a true negative of Jon's donut would surely be made of antimatter. In physics antiparticles are so indicated by drawing a line over the usual particle symbol, hence the change on the sign. The donut is already starting to glow as its mass annihilates with the matter in the room. Shortly after the strip ends Jon's house, neighbourhood, and state are wiped off the map in a blinding flash of pure energy.

Original strips: 2009-07-09, 2012-04-09.

Transcript[edit | edit source]

{Garfield walks towards the plate}
{Jon is happily surprised, as an anti-donut has been placed on his plate along with a sign that says "Jon's Donut"}
