Explanation[edit | edit source]
The author writes:[edit | edit source]
By the way, that's 668 Martian days. If you were counting from Earth days, it'd be 686 days. (I'll conveniently ignore leap years, which are needed much more frequently on a Martian calendar, since the remainder for Mars' calendar is .5921, which necessitates more leap years then Earth's .2423.)
Original strip: 1990-12-31.
Transcript[edit | edit source]
Garfield: Well, another year is almost under the belt.
Garfield: And I've had 668 pretty good days.
Garfield: We live on Mars.
