Explanation[edit | edit source]

In the original Garfield strip, Jon was seeing a pan of lasagna here, but now it's gone, and Jon asked Garfield where the lasagna is, and where the pan is. Garfield said the lasagna is resting comfortably and the pan is resting not so comfortably.

Here, Jon was seeing lasagna and Odie here, but now it's gone and so is Odie. Jon asked Garfield where the lasagna is, and Garfield said the lasagna is resting comfortably. Jon asked Garfield where Odie is, and Garfield said Odie is resting very, very comfortably while holding his stomach in one hand.

The author has based this off of many other Square Root of Minus Garfield comics that became dark, like 178 or 51. He decided to take his spin on one of these with a widely-used comic, of course.
