Explanation[edit | edit source]

Another pun on "Garfield Minus Garfield" -- this time, it involves Garfield perched atop Minas Tirith, a locale featured in J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-earth writings. More specifically, the photo was taken from Peter Jackson's film adaptation of The Return of the King, the final book in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Such a comic had been referenced by Manyhills two months prior in "Garfield Minas Garfield" (which did something similar to the same original strip), which is what the description here is referencing.

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

As it was asked for, so it has been delivered.

Comic images taken from Garfield Minas Garfield. Rest taken from The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (Directed by Peter Jackson).

Original strip: 2004-01-13.
