2413: Garfield Kart 64
Garfield Kart 64 |
Made by: Densetsu Bros |
Explanation[edit | edit source]
This strip takes the original Garfield strip and re-frames the traps in the context of a Mario Kart game; the banana peel's graphics, once placed, are those from Mario Kart 64, and what was originally the saw trap has been redone as a blue Spiny Shell hit.
Despite the strip's name alluding to Mario Kart 64 and indeed its item graphics are used for both the banana peel and the blue Spiny Shell, the behavior of the blue Spiny Shell depicted in this strip more resembles its behavior from Mario Kart: Double Dash, Mario Kart DS, and Mario Kart Wii; that version of the item had wings and flew directly toward the lead racer (the transcript even states the shell to be flying). The Mario Kart 64 version of the item remained on the ground, traversing the course and affecting every racer it hits along the way en route to the lead racer; this behavior was reinstated in Mario Kart 7.
