Explanation[edit | edit source]

This strip essentially fuses the blender gag (the blender taken from an uncredited 2008-04-26) with the very first Garfield strip, and also gives the blender some sentience by giving it dialogue.

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

Yes, I know it doesn't make sense for the blender to be saying "Blend me" but this was all I could think of for that last line. Also, Garfield just... exists in this one because I couldn't be bothered to erase him from it entirely. I suppose I'm following in the fat cat's footsteps.

Original strip: 1978-06-19.

Transcript[edit | edit source]

{Jon, at his drawing board with Garfield, has a blender on his face}
Jon: Hi, there... I'm Jon Arbuckle. I'm a cartoonist, and I have a blender on my face.
Blender: Hi, there. I am Blender. I'm a blender and this is my cartoonist, Jon.
Jon: Our only thought is to entertain you.
Blender: Blend me.
