Explanation[edit | edit source]

In this edit, the author removed the entire strip... except for rectangles around the word "Garfield". The author likens it to videos in which a work is edited down to only when someone is saying a particular word or phrase; in the author's example, this would be the word "Shrek" in the film Shrek.

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

like one of those movie edit memes. for example: shrek but only when someone is saying shrek. I picked this strip because it was the one I was looking at when I decided to make this.

Original strip: 2013-09-01.
