3123: Days Till
Days Till |
Made by: Nyperold |
Explanation[edit | edit source]
In the original strip, the number of times Odie stomped, added to the date, took them all the way to the day after Christmas, Boxing Day, while still identifying it as Christmas. This strip takes two different tacks on correcting this.
In A, the number of "stomps" is left unchanged, but the day Jon says is changed to Boxing Day, which Garfield is oddly eager for.
In B, one "stomp" is removed (and the others on the same line centered) so as to make Christmas be correct after all.
Boxing Day is not generally observed in the United States of America. It has a number of possible origins, none of which are necessary to know for the purposes of the strip.
