Explanation[edit | edit source]

The Original Garfield Strip (Along With The Garfield Logo) Never Had Any Censor Bars. Without Even Looking, What Was Jon Saying About Garfield? Seriously? You Think It'd Be Published On The Comics Page That Way? Anybody Who Finds Any Dirty Meaning Probably Might Have A Dirty Mind To Being With On Author's Note. The Actual Answers Are "Listen", "Agree", "Respect", "Show Affection", "Mirror", "Cat", "Grief" And Love, So Stop Having A Gutter Mind, Please.

This Strip Serves To Illustrate What Entirely Needless Censoring Can Do. You See The Censor Bar And Assume That There Might Have Been Something Worth Censoring, So Just Fill Your Mind In The Blanks, That's All. Seeing The Original Strip, However, Might Have Any Dirty Meaning Or Would Never Have A Dirty Mind To Be With. (Of Course, The Author Did, Or This Strip Would Never Have Been Made.)

Based On The First Censored Garfield Comic.

The Author Writes:[edit | edit source]

Anyone who finds any dirty meaning probably already has a dirty mind to being with.

Original strip: 2002-10-06.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

The remnants of the old crediting system visually miscredit 2002-06-10, presumably due to the author believing original strip credits ran on the YYYY-DD-MM format instead of the YYYY-MM-DD format actually in use; the visually-miscredited date links to a now-busted link that previously led to the correct strip, and the current crediting system properly renders the date of the original Garfield strip as 2002-10-06.
