Explanation[edit | edit source]

In the original strip, Jon and Garfield walk to an abandoned house this night, and Garfield finds a tombstone that says "GARFIELD: R.I.P, 6-19-78, 10-30-82, with a flower on it.

Here, Garfield sees a tombstone that reads "Here Lies Squidward's Hopes and Dreams" which is from the SpongeBob SquarePants episode called "One Krabs Trash". In it, Mr. Krabs sees Squidward crying as he walks up to a tombstone, putting flowers on it, and leaving. When he sees what's written on the tombstone, Mr. Krabs remarks, "What a baby."
