Explanation[edit | edit source]

I realize that by submitting this, I might be indirectly starting up that "Mouse declares Jon's house property of [INSERT CORPORATION HERE]" meme (in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if there's some sort of "slush pile" featuring strips like that), but it had to be done. It's a common joke that Disney owns... well, let's just say quite a lot of things.

Ironically, this was made BEFORE Disney purchased 20th Century FOX - which also distributed Garfield: The Movie and Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties. Which means that Disney DOES, in a way, own Garfield. Sort of. Okay, maybe it doesn't.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to worry that Disney might stick a Family Guy ride in the parks somewhere...

Original strip: 2011-11-19.

Transcript[edit | edit source]

{Jon is standing around his house doing I don't know what when a mouse walks up to him holding a flag with Mickey Mouse's face on it}
Mouse: I declare this house property of the Disney Corporation!
{Judging by the expression on his face, Jon can apparently hear the mouse's thoughts. After the mouse leaves, a different mouse leaps into view - specifically, Mickey. He is accompanied by Chip and Dale}
{Then Jon encounters Dumbo and the Seven Dwarfs}
{Then he encounters Aladdin, Jasmine, and the Cheshire Cat}
{Then he encounters Winnie the Pooh and Tigger too. He isn't too fazed by this}
{Finally, Jon meets up with Garfield outside of the castle you see at the start of every Disney movie}
Jon: Garfield...
Garfield: Shh. Don't let them hear you!
