Explanation[edit | edit source]

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

This Garfield print was auctioned by Sotheby's of London, selling for a record price of £1,042,000. These photos of the artwork were captured immediately after the gavel fell for the successful new owner.

The still images do not quite do it justice, so here is a video:

Transcript[edit | edit source]

{a print of a Garfield artwork, in which Garfield is seen holding a quintet of helium balloons}
{the print descends into a shredder, and is reduced to shreds}

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The video in the author's notes is embedded on the strip's page on Square Root of Minus Garfield itself; this wiki's code does not support embedding, so the author's notes were slightly modified for presentation on this wiki to include a link to the video.
  • This strip's author's notes were hit with a mojibake error in a later site recoding effort; the original author's notes unaffected by mojibake are currently lost to the public due to this.
