Explanation[edit | edit source]

In the original strip, Garfield's "ticket out of here" is his imagination, filled with sunshine, daisies, and frolicking with Arlene as other Arlenes look on admiringly.

In this edit, Garfield chooses suicide by hanging, and is discovered by Jon. The sources of these elements were not remembered by the author.

The author writes[edit | edit source]

One that I made for fun, before I knew about Square Root of Minus Garfield, so I don't remember which strip(s) I built the last panel from - sorry.

Original strip: 1984-01-29.

Transcript[edit | edit source]
