Explanation[edit | edit source]

Here's a very odd Christmas present for my (at time of writing) 5-year-old niece. During a recent visit, after finding out she enjoyed drawing, I asked her to draw a panel of a Garfield strip that I enjoyed, and this is what she drew.

Just to be clear: I asked her parents' permission, and for the sake of keeping things relatively anonymous, I am carefully not mentioning her by name, except to mention she's the niece named after her grandmother. She's a little young to understand what the comic strip "Garfield" is, nevermind what Square Root of Minus Garfield is, but I thought she might enjoy having something posted on one of the Internet's strangest refrigerators.

(For those who read the forums: This is a different niece from the one who inspired this idea. People can have more than one niece, you know.)

Original strip: 2015-12-24.
