How about some poisson? |

Explanation[edit | edit source]
This strip swaps out the steak and cheeseburger from the original Garfield strip for two foods that are toxic to both cats and dogs. Chocolate is well-known to be poisonous to dogs, and grapes are well-known to be poisonous to cats; chocolate being poisonous to cats and grapes being poisonous to dogs are less well-known in comparison.
The title additionally references a third such food, and the author's notes explains why it should not be misread as "poison" as well as explaining that raw fish is toxic to both cats and dogs; despite the author's notes explaining why "poisson" shouldn't be misread as "poison", this strip is still centered around foods considered poisonous to both cats and dogs.
The author writes:[edit | edit source]
Nooo, not 'poison.' 'Poisson.' It's French for 'fish.'
But don't feed them raw fish, it's poisonous to cats and dogs.
Original strip: 2020-05-27.
