4235: Gartholemew and the Arbleckle
Gartholemew and the Arbleckle |

Explanation[edit | edit source]
In the original strip, Jon and Garfield were sent mashed potatoes and what Garfield guessed was gravy. Here, Jon is sent pink-stained snow while Garfield is sent oobleck.
The pink-stained snow is from the Dr. Seuss book The Cat in the Hat Comes Back. In it, the Cat eats cake in the tub, creating a pink ring around it. Attempts to remove it only spread the pink to other objects, including the snow outside.
Oobleck is a type of fictional weather in Bartholemew and the Oobleck, which is what the strip title is a play on. It is created when the king in the book decides he's tired of normal weather. Unfortunately, the oobleck is sticky, and causes all kinds of trouble.
