Explanation[edit | edit source]
The original strip had Garfield relax on the table pretending the table is Planet Earth. While he relaxes, Jon trips on some marbles offscreen and gets up. Garfield does not recall giving Jon permission to walk on his marble collection. But in this edit, Jon doesn't get up and Garfield lies down apathetically.

The reason Jon gets up in the original strip is to confirm, despite being hurt, that he is alright. Here, well, you know.

{Garfield is lying down as Jon walks by. Suddenly, Jon slips back, then forward, then has both legs up as he looks at the floor in dread}
SFX: THUD!
{Jon does not get up}
Garfield: I don't recall giving him permission to walk on my marble collection
