Explanation[edit | edit source]
The author writes:[edit | edit source]
"Garfield Anagrammed".
I tried to anagram the text of an entire strip, across panels (having forgotten that #62 already exists), such that the resulting strip has a new punchline and still vaguely makes sense. Not sure how much of a punchline this new one is, but here you go.
Is it obvious that I crammed all the leftover letters into the final line?
Original strip: 1991-12-06.
Transcript[edit | edit source]
Jon {grinning, with a pipe in his mouth}: Feline, I notice you eyeing my pipe
Garfield: Hard not to
Jon: Now take a look at this thing! I demand a compliment! I've rehearsed
{Jon blows bubbles out of the pipe}
Garfield {inventing a derogatory term for "bubble" and suggesting the two watch television instead}: Uhhh... gas eggs? Is TV OK?
