5510: Consistency

Explanation[edit | edit source]
This strip has Garfield plotting to fill a "pinata" with lasagna more in line with his established character, whereas in the original Garfield strip he was plotting to fill a piñata with nacho cheese. It is unknown whether the author didn't know how to properly render the word "piñata" (there is no easy way to type the "ñ" character on many anglophone computer keyboards) or if the author used a font that didn't properly support the "ñ" character (some Garfield-style fonts, including the Garfield Sans font linked to from Square Root of Minus Garfield's Submit page, do not); the original Garfield strip did make use of the "ñ" character.
This strip was notably published on the 46th anniversary of Garfield's national debut; the original Garfield strip had run the day before the 44th anniversary.
The author writes:[edit | edit source]
Original strip: 2022-06-18.
