Explanation[edit | edit source]

This "strip", if you can even call it that, is a clear attempt at a trend of one-upping in a trend of intentional lazy edits designed to lampoon lazy edits. Deriving inspiration from 4704: One-downsmanship and the second content-free "strip" presumably inspired through that branch of the running gag (after 4898: nothing), this "strip" manages to make usage of the smallest possible file size that Square Root of Minus Garfield can actually run (anything less and there wouldn't even be a file to deploy). Also like strip #4898, this "strip" one-ups the strip from the day prior, in this case 5520: Take It To The Limit One More Time, by dispensing with a strip altogether; despite this "strip" not including a transcript, it only fails to one-up #4898 itself by its detailed set of author's notes.

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

After seeing SRoMG #4704, this was inevitable. Apparently I'm too lazy to send in an actual strip* (but not lazy enough to actually write an annotation, so evidently there's still room to improve).

I eagerly await the edit of this strip that forgoes the annotation, title, comic, transcript, and, indeed, sending a submission email altogether.

[*for technical reasons the Editor supplied a single transparent pixel -Ed]

Original strip: 2015-01-06.

Transcript[edit | edit source]

In line with the "strip" being content-free, this "strip" does not have a transcript.
