Explanation[edit | edit source]
The derivative of any constant is zero. Thus, the derivative of Garfield the cat would be nothing, as Jon discovers here. (Garfield's name also fades from existence in Jon's speech bubble, since Garfield's name is also a constant. This is dramatic license, since the derivative would be zero everywhere and so the letters should all turn white when their derivative is taken.)
