5727: Well Past Atlantic City

Explanation[edit | edit source]
The strip humorously exaggerates Garfield’s reaction to an impending medical exam. Liz enters the scene, preparing to take Garfield’s temperature with an unusually large thermometer. Garfield, visibly distressed, remains frozen in shock, while Jon looks on smugly, seemingly enjoying Garfield’s discomfort. The comic plays on the absurdity of Garfield’s fear, particularly his concern that the oversized thermometer could spill mercury if mishandled.
The author of the strip jokingly challenges readers to prove that this parody is any more inappropriate than the original Garfield comics that inspired it.
The author writes:[edit | edit source]
I defy anyone to tell me that this is any more obscene than the original.
Original strips: 2023-10-26, 2024-02-16.
