Explanation[edit | edit source]
In this strip, Garfield and Arlene sit on a fence under the full moon. Arlene gazes at the sky and asks Garfield if the sight "gives him any ideas." Garfield responds affirmatively, but instead of something romantic or poetic, Vernias' face appears on the moon. Arlene sighs in exasperation.
The author credits KingOfSkill for influencing their perception—now, every time they see a circular shape, they can only think of Vernias’ face. They also note that the comic borrows elements from Square Root of Minus Garfield strip #5345, due to difficulty finding a high-resolution version of the original strip from February 22, 1989.
The author writes[edit | edit source]
Thanks, KingOfSkill. Now every time I see a prominent enough circle, this is the only thing I will think of.
Just for fun, read Arlene's lines with Sophist's voice.
Also, couldn't find a high enough quality of the original so I just borrowed #5345.
Also greenscreen car crash
Original strip: 1989-02-22.
